JEFF'S SPORTS BLOG - THE CHICAGO BEARS VISIT THE ATLANTA FALCONS

It's early in the season but the
Chicago Bears will play
the
Atlanta Falcons in a key NFC game
tomorrow at NOON, CST. The Bears and
Falcons have surprised many NFL experts by posting a 3-2 record so far.
The Bears have brought the usual tough defense with a solid, balanced offense all year long and the
Falcons have brought a top-notch running game combined with a defense featuring
a strong pass rush.
The Bears will have a tough task as they'll not only play a
good team but will have to play inside the Georgia
Dome and battle the noise from a sold-out crowd. The Bears have had trouble in the past with
dome stadiums and this could prove to be their biggest obstacle.
The Falcons have benefited from their starting running back,
Michael Turner, getting off to a
tremendous start averaging 109 rushing yards per game with six touchdowns
already. The Falcons have had a fairly
strong start from rookie QB, Matt Ryan,
who has shown good poise and has managed games effectively.
The Bears will bring an aggressive defense to get after both
Turner and Ryan with stopping Turner the number one priority. If the Bears can achieve this, they'll be
able to force Ryan into beating them and I'm not sure Ryan can do this without
the help of the running game.
Should the Bears stop the run with their defense and have
their own running game, led by Matt
Forte, thrive against the Falcons defense, the Bears should come out of Atlanta with a win.
Two surprising NFC teams face off tomorrow and it should
prove to be a very good game! The Bears
and Falcons feature an aggressive style of play with good athletes and a lot of
speed on both sides of the ball.
This will be a great game and let's hope our Bears come out
victorious.
