THIS WEEKEND IN CHICAGO - COUNTRY MUSIC FESTIVAL & CHICAGO MARATHON
Jennifer Garrity - Dean's Team Customer Service CoordinatorGo out to Soldier Field on this fantastic balmy autumn weekend and celebrate Chicago's Country Music Festival.

2008 marks a big change for the event. The Chicago Country Music Festival will be moving to a new location and a new date!

Mayor Daley is a country music fan and recognized a need for a Chicago Country Music Festival in the city.

Chicago, after all, has a rich heritage in country music and has a vast number of country singers/songwriters and bands here. Due to the large number of celebrants, the time of year and facility Chicago changed locations to better accommodate the crowds.

The Chicago Country Music Festival moves to the Soldier Field Parkland and will kick off a weekend full of music and activities beginning Saturday, October 11 through Sunday, October 12, 2008.  Admission is free and there will be several stages providing entertainment for all ages.
