Summer is now officially behind us. That means that Oktoberfest celebrations are surely underway. Celebrate autumn with a little German culture this weekend. Oktoberfest ... Beer, Bands, & Brats are on the agenda. Here are a few options around town.

Alphonsus', one of the city's oldest churches, Sixth Annual
Oktoberfest, among the original festivals in Chicago! Located
in the South Lakeview neighborhood, St. Alphonsus was founded by German
immigrants in 1882, and continues to recognize its German roots by
celebrating an authentic Oktoberfest every September. There is fun for the whole family.

A small admission fee includes a plate of brats, German potato salad, sauerkraut, strudel. Also you will get two glasses of wine, beer or soda. Guest featured polka music performances by Flechsig's Oktoberfest Band. Come and see the silent auction items. Come out and make a day of it.
