TECHNOLOGY TIPS - SANDISK TO INTRODUCE SLOTMUSIC
The music industry is now introducing a new initiative called slotMusic. It's a partnership between SanDisk and several major retailers.
The entire concept revolves around ease of use. Essentially, the user buys a 1GB card with preloaded music and listen to it without having to download it from your computer at home.
The pro to this obviously is that you do not have to be connected to your computer to download any music. The con (and a pretty major one in my opinion) is that you'll have to carry these disks with you. In one article I read, the reps at SanDisk do not think this is a big deal and reportedly media binders will be available at launch.
Only time will truly tell if this is going to be the next big "wave" in musical media. The launch is due around the holidays so stay tuned!
