SUMMER MUSIC FESTIVALS ABOUND THIS WEEKEND!

Enjoy the Summer Music Series, presented by Chicago's Art Institute and the Old Town School of Folk Music! It will be held on Thursday and Friday evenings from 5:30 to 8:45 in McKinlock Court in the Art Institute, located off the Garden Restaurant. Join friends for cocktails in the garden or come and get a table for dinner. There is no cover charge or minimum, and seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information, click here.
Perhaps Friday, August 22nd, you'd like to attends the concerts at Lincoln Park Zoo on the Main Mall. This week's performance is given by Soul Asylum. Seating is general admission, and all are welcome to bring blankets to sit upon. Come early and stay for a delicious dinner from Park Place Café. Beer and wine will be available at a cash bar for guests 21 and older. The Kovler Lion House and Kovler Sea Lion Pool will be open during the event. To find out more, click here.
Saturday night take in a little Chicago Reggae at the Festival being held at Union Park, 1501 W. Randolph. This is Chicago's only reggae fest, featuring the big name musicians, Caribbean food and crafts, and good times!
Tickets are $15 if paid in advance, $20 at the gate, and children 12 & under are free with paid adult admission. For more information click here.
Saturday and Sunday offer both Latin and Greek fests.
The 20th Annual Viva! Chicago Latin Music Festival in Grant Park will be featuring explosive Latin music and lively cultural traditions and celebrations.

Stop by the Taste of Greece 2008 at Chicago's Greektown 100-400 S. Halsted Street.
On Saturday August 23rd from 12:00pm to 11:00pm and Sunday August 24th from 12:00pm to 11:00pm, you are invited to celebrate all things Greek. For 2 days Halsted street will be filled with music, dancing, food and fun for the whole family, from Monroe to Van Buren.
Sample the fine Greek delicacies. Performances will be given by Greek Acrobats and the Jesse White Tumblers of Chicago. Admission to Taste of Greece is free of charge - but donations to the Hellenic Museum are be very much appreciated.
