TECHNOLOGY TIPS - CHICAGO TRANSIT AUTHORITY BUSTRACKER
If you are a city commuter, like me, knowing when the bus or an El will arrive sure makes it easier to plan your day.
The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) introduced CTA Bustracker about a month ago and so far this service has proved to be great for commuters. You can have information sent to your PDA or cell phone provided the software is up to date.
The service is integrated with Google Maps to show all the bus locations currently available in CTA Bustracker. You can choose to find a full route or specific stop on the map. There is also a Trip Planner option that allows the user to figure out the quickest and least expensive way to get to your destination.
Below is a comprehensive list of the bus routes currently covered by the service.
Routes now available. 7, 8, 9, X9, 10, 12, 17, 18, 20, X20, 21, 35, 38, 39, 43, 44, 47, 48, 49, X49, 50, 51, 52A, 52, 53A, 54A, 54B, 55, X55, 55A, 55N, 56, 56A, 59, 60, 62, 62H, 63, 63W, 67, 68, 75, 77, 78, 80, X80, 81, 81W, 84, 85, 85A, 86, 88, 90, 90N, 91, 92, 94, 125, 126, 129, 146, 147, 148, 152, 156 and 165.
