THIS WEEKEND IN CHICAGO - ENJOYING SUMMER YET?

Are you enjoying your summer so far? If not, it certainly isn't for a lack of nothing to do. Chicago and its surrounding neighborhoods
always have something going on during summer, and this weekend is no different. So I suggest that you get yourself out there this weekend as it promises to be gorgeous weather-wise - what a bonus. No, "yeah buts'" - just get out there!
If you don't, you're sure to miss the 51st Annual Venetian Night being held at Monroe Harbor on Saturday kicking off at 7:45 p.m. with a dramatic reenactment of an air/sea rescue. This year's theme is "Summer's Favorite City". Who can argue with that? Click here for the entire schedule of events.
I came across this for you cyclist enthusiasts - the Second Annual Ride to Pierogi Fest. Sorry, this is only for adults 18 and up. You'll gather at Buckingham Fountain in Grant Park on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. and trek your way from there to Whiting, Indiana for the 2008 Pierogi Fest. For you non-cyclists though, this Fest runs Saturday (11:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m.) and Sunday (11:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.), which, it goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway, serves up a wide variety of - you guessed it - pierogis along with a pierogi eating contest, a pierogi toss, a kids' kourt, polka bands and much more. Click here for more details.
Want to stay in Illinois, then try one of these weekend festivals -

The 25th Annual Taste of Lincoln Avenue, located at 2400 N. Lincoln Avenue and covering six city blocks. This fest runs from 12:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday featuring participating restaurants such as the Thai Bowl, Nonna's Italian Pizzeria and Jade East. Click here for more details and the musical lineup.
The Fifth Annual Randolph Street Market Festival, located at Randolph and Ogden, and formerly known as the Chicago Antique Market.
