Jennifer Garrity - Dean's Team Customer Service CoordinatorThis weekend is so filled with things to do, it is difficult to narrow it down to just a few.  One incredible event kicking off Friday July 18th will be the coverage of the 100th Race to Mackinac.

The 100th Chicago Yacht Club Race to Mackinac has set records.   More than 430 racing yachts are expected to begin at the start on Saturday, July 19th.  Nearly 4000 sailors will test their strength of character against their divisions and classes, under conditions that can range from several defeating elements from light winds and record high temperatures to strong storms.  Because of Torresen Marine, people around the world can watch it all unfold.

Chicago is hosting its Outdoor Film Festival at Grant Park.  Bring the family, lawn chairs, and pack a picnic for fun under the stars on Tuesday nights while watching classic movies for free.  Location is Butler Field, 100 S. Lake Shore Drive.

Enjoy Chinatown's 29th Annual Summer Fair.  Festivities will include a lion dance procession beginning at 12:30 pm.  The fun begins at 10:00 am Sunday in Chinatown, 2200 S. Wentworth Avenue.  There will be live music, food, dance, arts and crafts and activities for the whole family.

Chicago is hosting its Summer Dance and Music festivals in Grant Park this weekend too.  In its 12th year, this 11 week event features lessons, live music, and dancing that will run through August 24th.  The location is The Spirit of Music garden for the dance fest and the Petrillo Music shell for the music fest.

And around town the DuPage (2015 W. Manchester Road, Wheaton), Kane (525 S. Randall Road, St. Charles), and Lake County (Lake County Fairgrounds, 1060 E. Petersen, Grayslake) fairs will be underway.

So much to do!  The hard part will be deciding which to choose.  For even more choices click here.
