THIS WEEKEND IN CHICAGO - HAPPY FATHER’S DAY AND MORE!
Sue Moss - General Manager, Manager of Unbeatable Service for Dean's Team CHICAGO!Yeah, summer is in full swing here in Chicago!  The outdoor festivities just keep on coming weekend after weekend, rain or shine.  Not to mention that this weekend is Father's Day as well.  So let's take a look at what's happening around town.

For those of you that are still undecided what to do for your Dad, or are just now realizing its Father's Day on Sunday, I came across the following two eateries that require no reservations.  In fact, they're not accepted!

Smoke Daddy in the Wicker Park neighborhood (1804 W. Division) is serving up an all-you-can eat pig roast on Saturday from Noon to 3:00 p.m.  Cost is $20, which also includes Bud Light drafts.  Click here for more details.  This way Dad can sleep in on Sunday.  That is, if he isn't out golfing.

Or, for those Dad's who are TV junkies, drag them over to Harry Caray's Tavern in the Wrigleyville neighborhood (3551 N. Sheffield).  Rumor has it they have a 123-inch ultra-high tech HD TV.  Can you imagine that?  I think I'll even go check that out myself.  Harry Caray's will be serving this Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and if the Dads are dining with their kids, they'll get a free entrée up to $15!  Click here for more.

If your Dad isn't the type to stay indoors but rather be outdoors with his family, try these on for size -

59th Annual Old Town Art Fair located in the Old Town neighborhood's triangle historic district with main gate entry at Lincoln and Wisconsin.  This fair not only includes various forms of art but also includes food vendors, live music, kids' activities and more.  Click here for more information as well as the music schedule.

34th Annual Wells Street Art Festival also located in the Old Town neighborhood between North Avenue and Division Street on "Wells".  Again, this fair also includes food vendors, kids' activities, live music by A Flock of Seagulls and American English just to name a few.  Click here for a full music schedule and more.

43rd Annual Andersonville Midsommarfest located in the Andersonville neighborhood at Foster and Clark.  Even though this is a celebration of the neighborhood's Swedish heritage, it will boast a variety of international foods, an arts and crafts display, as well as four stages of live music.  Click here for more details.

Wrigleyville Summerfest now in its sixth year, will be held on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Seminary between Roscoe and School.  Besides serving up food, drink & live music, they are also offering some contests (Guitar Hero and Cornhole), at a modest cost, and recommend that you register for those -- click here.

Festa Pasta Vino located at 24th and Oakley will serve up a variety of Italian foods from participating, popular local restaurants as well as provide live entertainment on two stages and more.  Need I say more!  Click here.

Finally, there's the Puerto Rican Day Parade to be held on Saturday at Noon kicking off at Columbus and Balbo Drives.  Afterward, continue your celebration at Fiesta Puertorriquenas, located at 1400 N. Sacramento in the Humboldt Park neighborhood, which actually kicked-off their festivities this past Tuesday and continues through Sunday.  Click here for more details.

Boy, I'm exhausted already and the weekend hasn't even started yet!  But be sure to take advantage of what our great City of Chicago, and its surrounding neighborhoods, have to offer this weekend.  And, don't forget to bring Dad along!

Have a Happy & Safe Father's Day --
