TECHNOLOGY TIPS - NEW APPLE I-PHONE UNVEILED!
Finally, patience pays off and the prices are going down.
The new Apple iPhone 3G was announced today with an anticipated July release here in the States. The new phone is slimmer, sells for hundreds of dollars less ($199 for an 8GB), and has GPS.
Here are some of the details from the press conference held by Steve Jobs at Apple.
The headset jack has been changed so no need for the adapter. Aesthetically, the back is black and not silver. It has a much faster Internet connection. Contact search starts matching contacts as you enter the first characters. You can read-only Power-Point presentations - great for those planning on using the phone for business purposes. You can delete or move groups of emails and save images from your emails into your iPhone.
And for the fun stuff . . . first off, there will be parental controls. Nice try, kids. A scientific calendar which is new and improved. Languages supported include Chinese, Japanese and other languages. The games include Sega's Money Ball. There will be an auction tracker from eBay, a mobile blogging app from TypePad, MLB real-time game highlights, and Loopt social networking.
