TECHNOLOGY TIPS - FASHION AND TECHNOLOGY MERGE
Fashionistas, now is the time to be on the lookout for something new from Christian Dior.
Yep, Dior is going high tech with a new cell phone for the low, low cost of $5,000. That is not a typo, the cost is $5,000.
Dior's plan is to branch out into new markets similar to what they did with the jewelry and watch lines. And this new phone is nothing to snooze at.
The handset will have an accompanying clip-on phone called "My Dior." The size is small and comparable to a USB key. It connects to the phone via Bluetooth and is a smaller version of the main phone which the user can clip to a handbag for easier access. The other specifications are not completely clear, but a little information includes a touchscreen, camera and special ringtones.
The initial launch of the phone will be later this summer in Russia and China where the anticipated demand is high. Currently the phone will work in most countries except Korea and Japan (no compatibility with the local wireless networks).
