CHICAGO SPORTS BLOG - 2008 BASEBALL PREDICTIONS
TIME FOR MY BASEBALL PREDICTIONS
Well, the 2008 Major League Baseball season is here and I'd like to present my predictions:
American League
East
- Boston Red Sox - They know how to win.
- Toronto Blue Jays - Could be much better than people think.
- New York Yankees - Girardi isn't Torre.
- Tampa Bay Rays - The Orioles are that bad.
- Baltimore Orioles - No hope.
Central
- Cleveland Indians - They're good and hungry.
- Detroit Tigers - They'll be in the hunt all year.
- Chicago White Sox - They need help in their rotation.
- Minnesota Twins - It will be hard to replace Santana.
- Kansas City Royals - They have some hope for the future.
West
- Seattle Mariners - Like the chemistry of this team.
- Los Angeles Angels - Hunter could make a big difference.
- Texas Rangers - Short on Pitching.
- Oakland Athletics - Can you say rebuilding?
National League
East
- New York Mets - They have Santana.
- Atlanta Braves - Any reason to think they won't be in the hunt?
- Philadelphia Phillies - Good team that will be very competitive.
- Florida Marlins - Starting Pitching will be weak.
- Washington Nationals - Not ready to contend.
Central
- Chicago Cubs - Strong, deep bullpen.
- Milwaukee Brewers - They will score a ton of runs.
- Cincinnati Reds - Dusty Baker?????
- Houston Astros - Can Tejada regain form?
- Pittsburgh Pirates - Gorzelanny will have a nice year.
- St. Louis Cardinals - Not very deep.
West
- Colorado Rockies - May win it all this year.
- Los Angeles Dodgers - Joe Torre will make a difference.
- Arizona Diamondbacks - Boy, if they were in another division.
- San Diego Padres - Peavy and Hoffman give you hope.
- San Francisco Giants - This is going to be a long year.
Next week, I'll discuss the playoffs and the World Series.
