OUR FAVORITE RECIPES - SLOPPY JOES

Cathy Mallers PhotoThe weaather is trying to break through, but with these temperatures reminding me of fall I wanted to try a yummy, easy family recipe.  It's a little comfort food with a great picnic flair.

Difficulty:  Easy

Prep Time:  15 minutes

Cook Time:  1 hour

Servings:  8-12

Ingredients:

2 lbs ground beef

1/2 bottle of ketchu

2 tbsp mustard

2 tsp brown sugar

1 green pepper, cut into small pieces

Salt and pepper

Recipe:

Brown the ground beef in a skillet.  Add salt and pepper for flavoring.  While browning the beef, cut green pepper into small pieces.

Drain fat from beef and wash with warm water.  After washing, put ground beef back into skillet.  Add ketchup, mustard, brown sugar and green pepper to beef.  Stir until mixed.

Simmer for 1 hour.  Add ketchup to taste.  Serve on hamburger buns.
