SUPER BOWL XLII – THE NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS VS. THE NEW YORK GIANTS
I KNOW WHO MY VOTE IS FOR!
The Super Bowl has been a part of Americana for over four decades. Football fans of all types will tune in on Sunday as these two teams battle for supremacy. Fans following the season know that the Patriots also are seeking to become the second team in league history to finish a perfect season, that is, winning every game including the Super Bowl.
Yes, the pinnacle of the season is here and it should prove to a very good game. The experts have been analyzing the statistics and match-ups and the betting line in Las Vegas has the Patriots favored and although the Giants are playing great football for the last two months, the Patriots have been playing great football since week one.
The Giants are a very physical team and can run the football rather effectively. Yet, to win this game, Giants quarterback, Eli Manning, will have to play a flawless game and adapt to the Patriots showing several different defensive packages throughout the game. These two teams met in the final week of the regular season and the Patriots emerged victorious by a score of 38-35 but the Giants were beating the Patriots by as many as twelve points at one point.
When you look at the match-ups you see how this game could be terrific. The Patriots have a terrific offensive line yet they'll be matched up against the Giants defensive line, which is the best in the NFL. Patriots QB, Tom Brady, has been terrific this year and always seems to have a lot of time to throw but this week he will be hurried by the Giants defensive line.
The one difference is that the Patriots are really well coached and there were times in the regular season that the Giants didn't play as if they were well coached. They've been known to take too many penalties and in some cases lose sight of their assignments during the game. You don't see that with the Patriots and this is part of the reason they have been able to remain undefeated.
Get the food ready, enjoy the company of family and friends and tune in to what should be a pretty good game with the New England Patriots emerging victorious to become only the second team ever to go undefeated during an NFL season. 19-0 - Looks rather impressive don't it?
