THIS WEEKEND IN CHICAGO FROM JENNIFER - SUPER BOWL HOT SPOTS

Jennifer Garrity - Dean's Team Customer Service CoordinatorSUPER BOWL FESTIVITIES!

OK, so neither our Chicago Bears nor the Packers made it to the Super Bowl this year.  That doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy the game.

If you’re not interested in huddling in your living room around your TV set, why not check out one of these locations for a little party action.  The half-time act featuring Tom Petty will sound way better over a club's sound system, anyway.

Lion Head Pub

This Lincoln Park bar, located at 2251 N. Lincoln Avenue, is serving up $3 Miller drafts, $3.50 Bloody Marys and giveaways, including a chance to win a Nintendo Wii.  Patriots, who?

Paramount Room

Located at 415 N. Milwaukee Avenue.  Anyone can offer free food, but this “gastropub” kicks it up a notch from your average hot wings and fries, with offerings like green bean tempura and something called a "Scotch egg," plus beer specials and quarterly prizes to boot.

Red Kiva

Get your sports fix in at this West Loop lounge/nightclub, located at 1108 W. Randolph Street, with an open buffet and bar for $40, followed by DJs and drink specials post-game.

For those of us not interested in the Superbowl this year, why not visit Grant Park.  Located behind the Bean, this wall of multi-colored ice by artist Gordon Halloran reflects the Chicago skyline and will mimic glacial movement during its month-long installation. Plus, live electronica acts will be playing on Saturdays.

Check out Canadian artist Gordon Halloran's art installation using multi-colored pieces of ice and portable refrigeration technology. Halloran also created an abstract painting that's embedded in the ice rink for colorful skating experience. There are activities, tours and/or musical performances to accompany the work each day -- visit the Web site for more info by clicking here.

This sounds like a fun way to spend a frosty day and the cost is free.  Grab yourself a hot chocolate or cider and enjoy.
