WHITE SOX KICK OFF THEIR SEASON
Jeff Ardito - Dean's Team Listing Specialist!IT'S TIME FOR SOXFEST!

The White Sox are in the midst of their annual Sox Fest at the Palmer House Hilton.  This weekend will begin the buzz for the upcoming baseball season for so many loyal Sox fans.  Kenny Williams, White Sox General Manager, has made some moves to better the team and only time will tell if they were the right moves.

Most notably, Williams went out and signed flamboyant Nick Swisher who is very versatile and will bring a live bat to an already dangerous line-up.  Just this past week, Williams inked right-handed reliever, Octavio Dotel to a two-year deal.  Dotel will help bolster a bullpen that had its struggles this past season.

The key for the Sox will be their starting pitching as their division boasts two teams that can really hit the baseball, Detroit and Cleveland.  With the trade of starter, Jon Garland, Sox fans are hopeful that the remaining starting staff can hold off the Tigers and Indians.

Mark Buehrle will head the staff and if he can pitch to his top form then the Sox have a great chance to compete for a division crown.

The strength of the White Sox should be their potent line-up and although they struggled offensively last year, the Sox should be much better this year and will need to put runs on the board as they battle both the Tigers and Indians.  A middle of the lineup that features Paul Konerko, Jim Thome, Jermaine Dye, Josh Fields/Joe Crede and Nick Swisher will be very formidable and should be a lot of fun to watch.

So, baseball fans, the spring season is quickly approaching and it's time to gear up and enjoy what should prove to be a fun season for the 2005 World Series Champs, The Chicago White Sox.

HOW DO YOU THINK THE SOX WILL FARE THIS SEASON? Let me know.
