OUR FAVORITE RECIPES - BRIE & CRANBERRY PHYLLO TRIANGLES
HOW ABOUT SOME YUMMY APPETIZERS FOR YOUR NEXT SOIRÉE!
When having guests it's always fun to have something different as an appetizer. I received this recipe recently and somehow it appeals to the Greek in me - probably the phyllo!
RECIPE SUMMARY
Difficulty: Easy
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 10 minutes
Makes 20 triangles
INGREDIENTS:
1 package Phyllo dough; thawed
1 to 1 1/4 cups butter; melted
1 can (16-oz) Cranberry Sauce; whole berry
8 ounces Brie or Camembert cheese; rind removed, cheese cut into 1/2 inch cubes
DIRECTIONS:
Preheat the oven to 400. Cut phyllo sheets lengthwise into 2-inch strips; cut each strip in half widthwise. Keep remaining phyllo covered with plastic wrap, to avoid drying out. Using 5 strips at a time, brush each with butter and stack on top of one another. Place 1 1/2 teaspoons cranberry sauce and 1-2 cheese cubes at the end of each stack. Fold into a triangle as you would a flag.
Place in an ungreased baking sheet; brush with butter. Bake for 10 minutes, or until golden brown. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
