KATHY'S HOME & GARDEN TIPS - LET’S START GETTING ORGANIZED NOW! Part 3

TEDIOUS CHORES CAN BE MADE EASY!
Bill paying is always a pain. As soon as a bill comes in the mail, sort according to due date. Write the due date on the right lower corner of the return envelope. Stack these with the dates facing up in a place where you see them every day. Pick one day a week for this chore.
Pay bills that are coming due that week. Mondays tend to be a good day for this. If you are a person who itemizes, use this day also to organize and categorize your receipts. I use an accordion folder to organize receipts into different categories. At the end of the month place them in a marked envelope (gas, office supplies, etc.)
Grocery shopping is another tedious and necessary chore. Get a map of your favorite grocery store, which will show you what items are in each aisle. Write your shopping list following the map. Keep a master list on your computer. If you're like our family, you will usually buy the same items every week. Using a master list can make shopping day a breeze. Keep an eye on items you don't buy every week like soap, laundry detergent and personal hygiene items. Use a note pad with a magnet on the fridge so all family members can add items as needed.
