NFL CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIPS BRING A GOOD DEAL OF EXCITEMENT TO FANS!

Jeff Ardito - Dean's Team Listing Specialist!IT'S TIME TO START CHOOSING A WINNER!

Well, it's championship weekend for all NFL fans.  Funny, how one year makes such a difference.  All four teams in this weekend's finals weren't in this position last year.  It looks as though the NFL has done a nice job with parity; but, of course, there are other reasons the final four of last year didn't make it to this weekend.

The two games bring a terrific amount of speculating as to the outcomes and offer the diehard football fan both the stardom of the game as well as some interesting match-ups.

What could be better than a Super Bowl that pits Tom Brady against Brett Favre both of whom are playing this weekend for the favored team to win and advance to Super Bowl XLII.  The modern day "golden boy," Tom Brady, who has had arguably the best season an NFL QB ever had against the savvy veteran and first ballot hall of famer, Brett Favre who has had his share of golden moments including a Super Bowl Ring.  So, I have to guess the public would want nothing more than just this and it would make sense that it could become one of the most highly anticipated Super Bowls ever.

But, I have to admit that I'm jumping the gun here.  The San Diego Chargers who will play the undefeated New England Patriots on Sunday have made an impressive run to get here and certainly can't be overlooked.  They have a formidable defense led by LB Shawne Merriman with other talented players who as a unit have become very opportunistic with takeaways that could change the outcome of any game.  Let's not forget too, that the Chargers boast the best running back in the game, LaDainian Tomlinson, who could literally take over any game.  He'll likely be the focus of the Patriots defense since the Chargers are "banged up" in the passing game with QB Philip Rivers and TE Antonio Gates both being game-time decisions as to whether or not they'll even play.

The Green Bay Packers will face the New York Giants on Sunday in what is proving to be a great match-up.  Green Bay is favored and quite possibly was the best team in the NFC for all of 2007.  They have a very balanced team with a terrific offense, special teams unit and a solid defense. Yet, the Giants are playing very well and have rattled off nine consecutive road game victories a rather impressive run!  They boast a very physical defense that can put a tremendous amount of pressure on the opposing QB and also have a very physical offense with a running game that features, Brandon Jacobs, who is a bruising running back at 265 Lbs.

These two games will be interesting and the probable outcomes point to quite possibly a Super Bowl to remember.

WHO DO YOU THINK WILL WIN THIS WEEKEND? Let me know.
