TECHNOLOGY TIPS - SHARING WEBSITE LINKS JUST GOT EASIER
SENDING INFORMATION VIA EMAIL CAN GET LONG
Have you ever sent an email to someone with this great link (URL) and it gets cut off or cut in half? It especially happens to me when I'm responding to an email. I send the website link. The link doesn't work. Next question is, "Well, how do I make it work?" The whole time you just wanted to send a quick email with the information and move forward with your day.
Thankfully here is another great reference for you that will help you send information easily and it won't get cut off. By now, you know it's going to be free but I just love it when free technology is out there for us to use.
So what is this miracle? Well maybe not a miracle but definitely a time-saver. It's called TinyURL. This is an easy to use site that lets you copy and paste a long URL into their software. The software then creates a link that is usually about 20-25 characters.
This is somewhat of a no-frills concept, but the beauty of this is that you can create a toolbar button for your Internet browser. Firefox users, this button is already in your browser. Next time you want to share a great website with someone, all you have to do is push the button. TinyURL automatically creates the link for you. You copy and paste it into an email. Voilà! You are done and can move on with your day.
