THE LATEST INTERNET CRAZE ARE MOBI SITES
The other day I was discussing being able to see a website on my friend's iPhone. Of course, part of that conversation turned to the new websites that contain .mobi as an extension.
I have to admit that it's pretty cool to have a website specifically designed for mobile technology. This is one of the latest in popular website registrations. According to mTLD, there are more digital mobile phones than televisions and PCs combined worldwide.
This entire initiative which was launched in September 2006. It's being backed by Google, Microsoft, Nokia, Samsung, Ericsson, Vodafone, T-Mobile, Telefónica Móviles, Telecom Italia Mobile, Orascom Telecom, GSM Association, Hutchison Whampoa, Syniverse Technologies, and VISA.
Even though a website with .com can be optimized for .mobi, the .mobi site is already optimized for mobile phones. This is great news for the user because the load times for any sites you visit will take less time. One of the features that I personally like is that a site with .mobi does not have a country code.
There are a couple innovative companies who have anticipated the needs of .mobi sites. One in particular is Zinadoo, which is of course my free option today. Zinadoo offers a mobile site creation tool, mobile site hosting, zinadoo.mobi domain name, and much more.
