LIL' BUDDY'S BLOG - HAPPY THANKSGIVING, TO ALL YOU DOGS, AND YOUR DESIGNATED HUMANS, TOO!
THE CHICAGO IL REAL ESTATE MARKET, AND OTHER THINGS CHICAGO, FROM THE POINT OF VIEW OF A LITTLE WHITE DOG!

Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at Dean's Team!
You know, there's a great old movie - Avalon, directed by Barry Levinson (the same director who brought you such great films as Good Morning Vietnam, Rain Man, Diner, Liberty Heights, and several others). Part of the story line revolves around the annual Thanksgiving dinners celebrated by an Eastern European immigrant family, year after year.
Although it is set beginning in the mid-1940's, there is a lot of relevance to today. (Our Team Leader, Dean, watches the movie every Thanksgiving, and sometimes gets just a bit emotional. I thought I saw him start to cry a bit - but he said it was just the onion dressing from the Turkey. Humans!)
Early in the movie, the grandparents, Eva and Sam Kirchinsky (played by Joan Plowright, and Armin Mueller-Stahl), somewhat ignorant of the meaning of the holiday, not celebrated in their Russian homeland, cry out, "Thanksgiving! Thanks for what?" Their son, Jules, played by Aiden Quinn, replies, "Be thankful for what you've got!"
That's the essence of this uniquely-American holiday.
Even when things get a bit tough, when business is slow, when the kids give you a headache (human kids, that is - we pups are always little angels, you know), when unexpected bills, or repairs, or health issues come along - you have to be thankful for what you've got!
Family. Children. Business Mentors. People (and dogs) that care for you, no matter what!
We hope Thanksgiving, 2007 is a blessed holiday for you. We hope you are spending the day with those you love, and who are closest to you. No matter what, they are there for you.
Now, save me that BIG drumstick!
