SUE'S "WHAT'S HAPPENING IN CHICAGO" BLOG - CHICAGO'S LATEST MUSICALS
Sue Moss - General Manager, Manager of Unbeatable Service for Dean's Team CHICAGO!WOW! TALK ABOUT TALENT AND MOVES . . .

This past Sunday my friend and I decided to go see a musical for some fun and relaxation since we couldn't get any tickets to the Chicago Bears v. Detroit Lions game - at least, not reasonably priced ones.  So, we decided to go see the Altar Boyz, being the good little Catholic girls that we were - are!  This musical is currently playing at the Drury Lane in Water Tower Place and I thoroughly enjoyed ALL 90 minutes of it.  All I can say is, if those were our Altar Boyz when I was younger, I would have gone to church every day.  I might have even gone twice in one day!!

Now, I realize this type of musical may not be everyone's cup of tea, but not to worry, Chicago offers a wide-variety of theatre productions for both young & old.  There is definitely always something to see.  So, here are just a few which are currently running as well as a few that are coming this Holiday season.

Wicked - Ford Center for the Arts (open run)

The Color Purple (musical) - Cadillac Palace Theatre (thru Jan 5, 2008)

Jersey Boys - LaSalle Bank Theatre (opened Oct 6, 2007).  I heard that these tickets are hard to come by.

The Phantom of the Opera - Cadillac Palace (thru Jan 6, 2008)

A Christmas Carol - Goodman Theatre (Nov 16 - Dec 29, 2007)

The Producers - Marriott Theatre Lincolnshire (thru Dec 2, 2007)

On a little side note, Halloween was another success this year on Chicago's northwest side.  We kept up with tradition by running out of candy so we had to close up the house and turn off all the lights so it appeared as if we weren't home.  But while we had a huge supply, we sat on our front stoop handing out tons of candy to Spiderman, Batman, little princesses, giraffes, turtles, ghosts, goblins, baseball & football players, dinosaurs - you name it, they came in droves!  Hopefully next year, I won't run out of candy.  I'm sure I'll get it right one of these years.

By the way, for those of you who are wondering about my "haunted house" situation - it's NOT!  My imagination was just getting the best of me yet again.  Wait ... Did you hear that?  Boy, the room is beginning to get chilly again.  Guess what -- I'm out of here.  See you all in two weeks!

JEN WILL COVER FOR ME WHILE I EXORCISE THE GHOST(S) FROM MY HOUSE.  GOT ANY SUGGESTIONS?  Send them my way.
