JENNIFER'S WHAT'S HAPPENING IN CHICAGO BLOG - WHERE DID HALLOWEEN AND THANKSGIVING GO?

IT'S STILL HALLOWEEN OR IS IT?!
Well it sure feels like Indian Summer is behind us with the blustery breezes and the chill in the air. Next week will be Halloween already, but I could not help but realize that neighborhood store shelves are already stocked with Christmas loot. This time of year has officially or unofficially become the new kick off for the Christmas holiday buzz.
Already I've noticed that Macy's on State Street has blacked out their store windows in preparation for the Christmas window display. If you haven't seen the "windows" you really should - and make it a family tradition. I cannot remember one year in my life that I missed seeing them. I heard that this years theme is going to be the Nutcracker, and will open on November 10th for public viewing. I am glad that Macy's chose to continue this fine Marshall Field's legacy.
Speaking of Christmas and State Street, shopping has to come to mind. In addition to Christmas, there are many upcoming gift giving holidays. Two of my all time favorite Chicagoland shopping malls are Woodfield and Gurnee Mills. Both are easy to get to and have ample parking. They both have a wide range of shops and affordable prices. Although I am not happy about the extremely early commercialization of Christmas, I do like to get my shopping done early.
So why not get out this weekend and shop! Send us a comment telling us about your favorite places to shop. Oh and have a safe and Happy Halloween.
WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE HOLIDAY SHOPPING EXCURSION? Tell us all about it, the funnier the better.
