CATHY'S TECHNOLOGY BLOG - GETTING ORGANIZED IS VERY EASY!

Cathy Mallers PhotoNOW YOU CAN ALWAYS BE ON TIME WITH BIRTHDAY CARDS AND HAVE THE INFO ALL IN ONE PLACE!

I have to admit that I was trying to find something that most people would enjoy using and would be functional as well.  You could say I'm a practical gal!

Then, I got this great reminder about a friend's birthday.  We're not the type of friends who talk every day but still, I like remembering what's happening in her life and also want to make sure I don't forget.  Enter Plaxo.

We all have those lists of names that we keep for various reasons - family, friends, dinner party group, work buddies, etc.  The great thing about Plaxo is that you can manage your multiple databases in one place, on-line (blessing!), and they have plug-ins to work with your email program (and yes MAC users also get the love).

Another great tool for staying in touch, but a little more on the business side, is LinkedIn.  There is a group in Chicago that is now meeting in person.  Go to Yahoo!Groups and search for Chicago LinkedIn.  One of the members designed open source software for a strong contact management tool.

So you can see that it's very easy to stay in touch with friends, family and even acquaintances.  Pick the tool you like the best (or use both to be ultra-connected) and let the programs do the remembering for you.

I'm such a freak about this but I have to add this is another one that is my favorite four letter word - free.

HAVE YOU GOT ANOTHER WAY OF REMEMBERING TO KEEP IN TOUCH CONSISTENTLY?  Let me know so I can check it out.
