JEFF'S CHICAGO SPORTS BLOG - IT'S MUST WIN TIME FOR THE BEARS!

THE BEARS MUST WIN THIS SUNDAY AGAINST THE PHILADELPHIA EAGLES!

Jeff Ardito - Dean's Team Listing Specialist!

In what should prove to be an interesting game, the Chicago Bears take on the Philadelphia Eagles tomorrow looking to "right" the ship and get back into contention within their division and the conference.

The game plan should involve a heavy dose of the running attack, featuring Cedric Benson who has shown signs of being a first round back in the last couple of games.  Hopefully, he will remain in the game and become a focal point for the offense.  Should this happen, the Bears will be able to utilize the play-action pass with QB, Brian Griese hitting the middle of the field to the Bear Tight Ends.  I look for Desmond Clark and Greg Olsen to have big games here and allow the offense to score points.

If the Bears can run and control the clock, I think the defense will play inspired football and look to contain Eagles running back, Brian Westbrook.  He remains an elite back with breakaway capability, much like what Adrian Peterson, Minnesota Viking running back, displayed last week.  I look for Brian Urlacher to have a big game and lead the defense back to the swarming defense they were at the beginning of the game.

Looking at the special teams, a huge edge to the Bears with the continued sensational play of Devin Hester.  Hester will provide the Bears with good field position at minimum, that's of course, if the Eagles elect to even kick/punt to him.  Hopefully, the Bears will utilize Hester on offense in some spread formations thus making it difficult for the Eagles to blitz, although their defensive coordinator, Jim Johnson has a reputation for just that.  If the Bears can get hot reads to Hester off an Eagles blitz he could take it to the house.

Although the Bears haven't played up to fan expectations, they continue to provide the excitement that a Sunday afternoon should bring to a diehard fan.  Look for the Bears to win this game but it will be close!

The goal for the Bears will be to go into their bye week with a .500 record.  GO BEARS!!!!!!!!

WHO FROM THE CHICAGO BEARS IS ON YOUR FANTASY TEAM?   Let me know!
