CATHY'S TECHNOLOGY BLOG - CREATE YOUR OWN RADIO STATION
HOW COOL!
Okay, so who knew my accountant of all people would have this great little find?!
We're talking taxes and whatnot (FYI - today is the last day to get your taxes filed if you did an extension in April). Then out of the blue, I get told about Pandora.
I have to tell you, I cannot get enough of this website. The premise is based upon the Music Genome Project.
You create radio stations based on artist or song title. The project then starts adding songs that match the profile of the music style you've picked. For example, I have a station called Aretha Franklin and all the song tracks chosen "feature classic soul qualities, gospel influences, acoustic rhythm piano, extensive vamping and major key tonality."
There are a lot of bells and whistles with this program that you get to uncover, but I'm going to highlight a couple that I found great. Let's say you're listening to a song and want to add it to your iPod. Click on the Menu button and there is an option to buy from iTunes or Amazon.
The music streams through your computer. For the serious music lover, you can actually purchase a complete stereo system that runs independent of your computer. Don't forget the bonus that you can listen while at work!!
I've got so many more radio stations to make. And don't forget, this is another one that is my favorite four letter word - free.
HAVE YOU GOT ANOTHER FREE RADIO OPTION? Let me know.
