SUE'S "WHAT'S HAPPENING IN CHICAGO" BLOG - POST SEASON PLAY!
IT'S POST TIME AND I'M NOT TALKING CEREAL!
Well, Well, Well, what do you know, I guess miracles do happen! The Chicago Cubs have made it to the post-season as the Central Division champions even after a very shaky first half. And, I mean very shaky!! So, that can only mean that the hottest, and probably most expensive, ticket in town this weekend would be the Saturday face-off with the Arizona Diamondbacks, which could also spill into a Sunday game depending on whether or not the Cubs win Saturday's game!
If you're one of the unlucky few who were not able to get tickets, or simply do not like or even want to understand baseball, there are several other options for you this weekend; however, I can guarantee you that the bars and restaurants near and around Wrigley Field will be packed so if crowds aren't your thing either, stay clear of that area.
It looks as though we're going to have another gorgeous weekend weather-wise and suggest the following outdoor activities:
The Kane County Flea Market located at the Kane County Fairgrounds. Not only is this flea market this weekend but Nov. 3-4 and Dec. 1-2 as well.
Pumpkin Days to be held at the Illinois Railway Museum in Union.
The Midwest Literary Festival in downtown Aurora.
The St. Charles Scarecrow Festival.
By the way, Buddy, my little Pekingese, wants me to remind you that the Bow Wow Bash is this Saturday between 11A-3P on Hoyne Avenue between Barry & Wellington Avenues. Don't forget there'll be costume contests for the pooches as well as other festivities. So make sure your four-legged family member(s) enjoy the outdoors as well this weekend!
Well, Well, Well, if the Cubs have no more miracles left we're in for a very short post-season! Ohhhhhhh - where's my Mylanta!!! What's your remedy?
Enjoy your weekend whatever it is you choose to do.
IF YOU'VE GOT A MINUTE OR TWO, I'D LOVE TO HEAR ABOUT YOUR POST-SEASON MEMORIES!
