JENNIFER'S "WHAT'S HAPPENING!" IN CHICAGO BLOG - OKTOBERFEST
OKTOBERFEST
Well it is certainly that time of year. Fall is here, and the colors of the leaves are turning shades or yelow, red and orange. What better way to welcome the Autumn Season than to join in the celebration of a good October Fest? Although the calendar still says September, this time of year means Oktoberfest parties and celebrations for German Americans.
In the city this weekend, why not get a jump start on October Festing and check out DANK-HAUS Oktoberfest at 4740 North Western Avenue Chicago, IL 60625, in Lincoln Square? Enjoy an evening of German food, and beverages mixed in with dancing and music. Polka anyone?
How about a Octoberfest Lunch Cruise off Navy Pier this weekend? Come out for and set sail on a cruise featuring traditional German music, food, beer, fun and festivities!
As far as the days and weeks ahead in October, our very own ABC News Hungry Hound, Steve Dolinsky recommends trying out some of the menus offered up by area culinary schools: The dinners are 40 dollars per person for five courses and they are BYOB. Reservations are a must.
