SUE'S "WHAT'S HAPPENING!" IN CHICAGO BLOG – SUMMER FUN
DON'T YOU BELIEVE IT!
Summer is not over yet. In fact, the way I see it, with the beautiful weather we've had in Chicago for many years now, summer can be celebrated way past the September 23rd autumn official beginning date.
This weekend I am going to suggest that you go (by yourself, with family, friends or pets) to one of the many beautiful Illinois State Parks. You can go boating, fishing, swimming, hiking, and horseback riding. Bring a blanket and a companion for a picnic or a book for a good read. Catch some sun and extend that summer glow.
Some parks have facilities for camping and cabins on site. Make it a whole weekend or overnighter. So put away the iPods, cell phones, TV, DVD players, and Xboxes, and enjoy the summer season in its entirety. I've provided a link of surrounding state parks and what they have to offer to make your trip this weekend (or next) a real adventure in nature and good clean fun.
