JEFF'S CHICAGO SPORTS BLOG - CUB FEVER BUZZES AROUND WRIGLEY FIELD!

OOOH NOOO!  I BELIEVE I'VE CAUGHT PENNANT FEVER!

Jeff Aridto - Dean's Team Listing Specialist!

I had the pleasure of taking in a game at beautiful Wrigley Field the other night and it was an awesome experience.  I share a limited season ticket package and have gone to several games this year.  Since a hot streak in the middle of summer, the Chicago Cubs have been a player in the Central Division race!

Although, no one is sure if the Cubs can work there way into the playoffs, the atmosphere at Wrigley Field was electric as they defeated the Brewers to win 2 of 3 games and take a 2.5 game lead in the division.

As we walked back to our car, we passed mobs of fans on Waveland and Sheffield Avenues, and on Addison Street.  The excitement could be felt in the air as Cub fans were "riding" the Brewer fans to go home with wide smiles on their faces.  The story in their hearts - the Cubs have a great shot at getting into the playoffs!

Yes, the National League Central Division is weak, perhaps the weakest in all of baseball this season, but who cares?  The Cubs have won the hearts of many loyal fans and with the promise of post-season play a real possibility, Cub fans relish the moment and know that this could be the year they go all the way.  The anticipation of what will be is endearing, exciting and promising.  When you put that together with the busy lives many people embrace, there's magic to going to the ballpark and forgetting the obligations of life and experience the universal excitement of Cub fans.

I found it invigorating and enchanting.  I'll be back as I have tickets for a few more games and I'll do so with great anticipation of this "buzz" in the air!  As the season comes to a close you can bet that the excitement will build as the Cubs make their push for a world championship.

THE DREAM IS UNFOLDING - THE CUBS WILL KEEP THEIR SEASON ALIVE - THROUGH OCTOBER!

Do you agree, or am I deluded?  Let me know!
