JENNIFER'S "WHAT'S HAPPENING!" IN CHICAGO BLOG – SUMMER FESTIVALS
HERE'S WHAT'S HAPPENING IN AND AROUND CHICAGO THIS WEEKEND!

There are several exciting street festivals happening this weekend in our great city. One is the 14th Annual Rock Around the Block at Lincoln Avenue & Addison Street (3600 N Lincoln Avenue). Over 30 bands will be performing on three stages. Sit back and take in the beautiful weather while listening to music, dancing, eating and enjoy the arts and crafts that will be featured. It is a fun time for the whole family. A $5.00 donation benefits the festival foundation.
If you prefer a folksy twist to your rock n’ roll, head North on Lincoln to the Chicago Folk & Roots Festival in Welles Park at Montrose. This festival, hosted by The Old Town School of Folk Music, is in its 10th season.
Further North, why not join in on the excitement of the Second Annual Celebrate Clark Street at 6950-7200—N Clark Street, on Clark between Morse and Touhy Avenues. Listen to live bands, sample food offered by various vendors, and just have some summertime fun.
As for the Southsiders, don’t miss the Chinatown Summer Fair at 2200 S. Wentworth Avenue. A Lion Dance procession beginning at 12:30 kicks off the fair. There will be special performances including music, dance, and martial art. Arts and crafts, dog, and baby contests make this fair fun for young and old. While you are there, feast on Chinese and American cuisine.
It is mid-summer and there is so much to partake in. Eat, drink, and be merry, don’t miss out!
