LIL' BUDDY'S BLOG - MY MOTHER'S DAY DILEMMA!
OBSERVATIONS ON THE CHICAGO REAL ESTATE MARKET, AND OTHER THINGS CHICAGO, FROM THE POINT OF VIEW OF A LITTLE WHITE DOG!

Whew-oof!
What's a little dog to do for his Mommy on Mother's Day? To make things worse, I'm a guy, and I just don't get what the Mother's Day celebration is all about. When I was just a little pup, I spent almost every day chasing my Mommy around the yard, the living room, the basement. Mommy seems a little too tired for non-stop play these days!
I guess I could take her to one of those fancy-shmancy restaurants downown. The Chicago Tribune Metromix pages list all of the hot restaurants in Chicago and in the suburbs - like Flatwater, Blue Water, Le Francais, or Cafe Selmarie. But I have to watch my budget these days. It's a Buyers Real Estate Market, you know, and I spend a lot of time helping Dean's Team clients find their new dream home at a very good price - and gas is every expensive, even in my lil' Buddy Mobile.
We can go to a less expensive breakfast restaurant. Ann Sather in Chicago, and The Omega Restaurant and Walker Bros. Original Pancake House, with several locations all over the suburbs come to mind. Great food, reasonably priced, easily available, but you know all of these places will be very busy.
And, for many of these restaurants, the table space for Little White Dogs is very limited - usually, I end up tied up to the newspaper box outside, with only a bowl of lukewarm water and a soggy dog biscuit to enjoy.
Hey, what about the Dog Treat Bar at PetCo? Good Eating, but very little there for my Human Mom? Every once in a while, however, a real nice babe walks by, and it's worth the trip. Last week, I was drooling for three days over a hot Beagle I saw right in front of the place. Sad to say, however, she had a guy, and a couple of little Beagle pups as well. Hey, maybe she'll stop by on Mother's Day?
We can go to the Cook County Forest Preserves, where dogs are allowed, subject to certain regulations. Even better yet, what about a Dog Friendly Park - there are over a dozen of them throughout Chicago and the suburbs. My favorite is Wiggly Field, in the Lincoln Park Neighborhood of Chicago, near Sheffield and Lincoln Avenues. Us little guys kind of hang together under the bench, away from all those German Shepherds and Dobermans. I've got to live to see next Mother's Day, you know!
Well what do you know! There really are a lot of great places a Little White Dog can bring Mommy on Mother's Day in Chicago. I can hardly wait to go with her!
But now, I have another dilemma - how should I sign my Mother's Day card! Any suggestions? Let me know, but don't tell your humans you're surfing the web again!
